“2011 Home Rules”

1. Teams will be allowed to play entire game with eight players.

2. Batter will start with a one/one count with one courtesy foul.

3. Numbers on Jersey's are not required.

4. Home run rule is "Equalizer". If visiting team hits a home run in the top of the first and the next batter comes up and also hits a home run, it is declared an out, until the home team hits a home run.

5. If a team is batting with 12 in the line-up and one player is injured with no sub to put in, an out will be declared each time the batter is due up, if he/she is not able to bat under their own power. If a player is ejected and has no sub, the game will be declared a forfeit.

6. If a team knows it will not be able to field a team, 24 hours notice must be given to one of the league directors (Darrell Clayton or Tom Castillo). The team will also be responsible for 1/2 of the fees ($18) for the umpire and scorekeeper. If a team shows up to the field with only seven players at game time, the game will be declared a forfeit and the team will be responsible for the whole payment of $36.00 dollars which must be paid prior to their next game.

7. Players will be allowed to play at the age of 17 with parental consent, signed by the player and the parent.

Rule Reminders:
1. The Pitcher is off limits. If a ball is hit at the pitcher, and the pitcher has no time to react and is hit by the ball, while in the pitchers box, the batter will be called out, whether it is intentional or not. If the pitcher plays on the ball, then the play is live. This is for the safety of our players.

2. Rule on sliding at home. If the ball is on a downward flight to home plate and can be caught by the catcher to make a play on the runner, the runner must slide or stop to prevent contact with the catcher. But, the ball must be in the area of the catcher to be considered a play at the plate.
If the catcher catches the ball but does not attempt to tag the runner and no contact is made between the catcher and the runner, then that is considered no play at the plate, so the runner is not obligated to slide or stop. For your catchers safety, please let them know the proper place to stand in order to make the play. On home plate is not the right place to stand.
